LOMA LINDA, Calif. -- A Marine who stopped to help a driver in a rollover crash was struck and killed on the 10 Freeway in Loma Linda on Monday.

Enrico Antonio Rojo and his fiance were driving to the airport at about 1:30 a.m. to go home for the holidays, when they witnessed a rollover crash, according to the California Highway Patrol.

When Rojo went to help, another vehicle on the freeway struck and killed him. Redlands Fire Department Battlion Chief J. Topoleski said Rojo was last reported to say, "Are you OK?" before the crash occurred.

Topoleski said the driver of the vehicle involved in the rollover crash was suspected of being intoxicated, and the driver of the vehicle who hit Rojo was cooperating with authorities.
