Long Beach civic center project making progress

LONG BEACH, Calif. -- The new Long Beach Civic Center is starting to take shape.
The $520 million project started construction two years ago.
The 11-story structures will be the new Long Beach City Hall and headquarters for the Port of Long Beach.
A later stage of the Civic Center development is a mixed-use building up to 36 stories in height.
Plans allow for up to 1,000 residential units and a hotel.
