LONG BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- Long Beach residents agreed Tuesday massive rainfall was needed in the midst of the drought, but the downpour did not come without headaches.
Flooded streets, a rushing Los Angeles River and strong rainfall led to major traffic and alarming rescues.
Three people were saved from the river in Long Beach when high water caught them during a fishing session, while others in the area experienced longer commutes on flooded roads.
"Obviously, the weather forecasters anticipate rain but sometimes people may not be aware or even maybe not anticipate the degree or the impact of the rain on their morning commute or their morning daily activities," said a public information officer from the Long Beach Fire Department.
