Over 900 people join Lung Force Walk in Ontario
The annual 5k Lung Force Walk kicked off Sunday morning as an effort to raise money and awareness for lung cancer.

ONTARIO, Calif. (KABC) -- The annual 5k Lung Force Walk kicked off Sunday morning as an effort to raise money and awareness for lung cancer.

Over 900 people registered for the on-foot mission that took place at Mathis Brothers, located in the 4100 block of Inland Empire Boulevard.

A special Lung Force loop option - a shorter walking route for those with breathing difficulties - was available for participants joining the effort.

This year's event was expected to feature family fun activities with live music, guest appearances by some of the public's favorite Star Wars characters and a fun-filled kids zone.

A Lung Force hero meet and greet was also held.

The event kicked off at 7:30 a.m. and was expected to conclude with an opportunity drawing and silent auction at 10:25 a.m.
