LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A baby-faced Mark Zuckerberg is seen discussing something called Facebook in a decade-old video that surfaced on social media.

Nearly three-quarters of American adults who use the Internet have a Facebook account, which is an impressive feat considering the social media site is just 12 years old.

Now, an interview from the site's early days is getting lots of attention online.

It's hard to believe, but Zuckerberg wasn't always the billionaire philanthropist and proud father he is today.

In this ultimate throwback video, Zuckerberg is seen talking about a little something called Facebook.

"I think Facebook is an online directory for colleges, and it's kind of interactive," Zuckerberg says in the footage.

Based in Palo Alto, the small office had only about 20 or so on the staff at the time - but the small quarters had no shortage of beer.

In the video, Zuckerberg is seen drinking out of a red plastic cup and opens up the refrigerator to show off plenty of brew.

Facebook was of course originally just reserved for college students, but now the social media site is everywhere. Funny enough, that may not have been Zuckerberg's original plan.

"I mean, there doesn't necessarily have to be more. I mean, a lot of people are focused on taking over the world or doing the biggest thing, getting the most users," Zuckerberg says. "I think like part of making a difference and doing something cool is focusing intensely."

A documentary filmmaker shot the interview for a project about millennials. He never finished the documentary but decided to share the video anyway.

That's when it was discovered on Twitter, and the rest is Internet history.
