INYO NATIONAL FOREST (KABC) -- The car belonging to a missing UCLA graduate student has been found in Inyo County, deputies said.
Michael David Meyers went missing two weeks ago after telling his roommate he was going hiking at Mount Russell.
Deputies found his gray 2002 Dodge SUV at the entrance to nearby Mount Whitney around 4 p.m. Wednesday.
The 25-year-old is an experienced hiker, but family members say he's never been gone this long.
Police said ATM records show Meyers bought water and gas at a gas station on the way up to Mount Russell. He was last seen at a Mobile Mini Part on 601 South Highway in Olancha. Detectives are trying to obtain surveillance footage to aid their investigation.
Meyers is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet and 10 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.
If you have any information about his whereabouts, you're urged to contact the Los Angeles Police Department at (877) LAPD-24-7 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
