MONTEBELLO, Calif. (KABC) -- Dozens gathered Saturday in Montebello to remember a bicyclist who was killed by a hit-and run driver earlier this week.

Steven Garcia was struck by a car at about 10 p.m. Wednesday at Bluff Road and Whittier Boulevard. He was rushed to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.

The driver fled the scene.

A white bike was placed at the scene of the crash as a reminder of the tragedy.

"We feel very sad that the driver didn't stop to help him. More than anything, I don't think there's any anger. It's more sadness knowing he got hit and the driver decided to keep going," said Olga Ramos, Garcia's aunt.

No arrests have been made.
