Newport Beach officer injured in single-car crash

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- A Newport Beach police officer was hospitalized after suffering injuries in a single-car crash Sunday afternoon.

The accident occurred around 2 p.m. at Jamboree and San Joaquin Hills roads, authorities said. It is unclear what caused the officer to crash his patrol vehicle.

He suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
