One person died after at least two people were shot at a house party in West Covina Friday night, police said.

WEST COVINA, Calif. (KABC) -- One person died after two were shot at a house party in West Covina Friday night, police said.

The shooting was reported around 10:30 p.m. in the 800 block of E. Michelle Street. Police said upon arrival, several party-goers were seen running out of a residence in different directions.

When officers went inside, they found a male victim, identified as 21-year-old La Habra resident Jose Melendez, shot to death and another wounded.

The surviving victim was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition, authorities said.

West Covina police said Saturday they were looking for at least two suspects, but investigators did not yet have a motive.
