Fatal crash prompts Sunset Blvd closure in West Hollywood
A driver was killed after losing control and slamming into construction scaffolding, parking meters and a utility pole in West Hollywood early Thursday morning, sheriff's deputies said.

WEST HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A driver was killed after losing control and slamming into construction scaffolding, parking meters and a utility pole in West Hollywood early Thursday morning, sheriff's deputies said.

The crash was reported near Sunset Boulevard and Larrabee Street around 4:20 a.m.

The driver, the sole occupant of the Nissan, was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim's name was not released pending notification of next of kin.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Sunset Boulevard was closed between San Vicente Boulevard and Horn Avenue until about 3:20 p.m.
