SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (KABC) -- Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who struck an elderly man as he crossed the street while pushing a cart in San Bernardino on Sunday night.

The incident occurred in the 24300 block of 4th Street just after 8 p.m., California Highway Patrol Officer Jaime Andrade said.

The 60-year-old victim was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center with moderate injuries.

The suspect's vehicle was described as a 1995 red Honda Civic with left side damage and possibly a blown tire.
