CANOGA PARK, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A man who was apparently an innocent bystander was fatally shot in Canoga Park on Tuesday, police said.

Officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 7200 block of Eton Avenue and Sherman Way at around 5:50 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department's Topanga Division.

The man was found shot and killed while seated in a parked pickup truck, police said. Investigators believe he was struck by a stray bullet while the occupants of two other vehicles fired shots at one another, according to LAPD.

Authorities said it appeared that the victim had just gotten off work when he was shot. His name has not been released, but officials said he was in his 30s.

Authorities did not have any suspect information. They believe the shooting was gang related.
