Teen arrested for making false bomb threats at 2 Corona high schools

CORONA, Calif. (KABC) -- Authorities arrested a 17-year-old Lee V. Pollard High School student on suspicion of making false bomb threats to two Corona high schools.

Corona-Norco Unified School District personnel assisted Corona Police Department School Resource Officers with the investigation after the minor called in multiple bomb threats to Pollard and Corona high schools.

On Tuesday, the minor called Lee V. Pollard High School claiming a bomb was on the campus shortly after noon. When officers were at the campus, the student called in again to say the bombs would go off within five minutes.

Then on Wednesday, the teen called in a bomb threat at Corona High School saying multiple bombs located at all the exits would go off after the final school bell rang.

Authorities conducted extensive searches at both campuses and could not locate any explosives.

The teen was booked into Riverside County Juvenile Hall and faces charges of making false bomb threats and criminal terrorist threats.

The school district will also be taking disciplinary actions against the student.
