The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. at the 6600 block of Franklin Avenue, near Cherokee Avenue, where a mother had to be extricated from her vehicle.

Authorities from the Los Angeles Police Department Hollywood Division said the pursuit lasted fewer than 30 seconds before one of the vehicles with two males and a second vehicle, with a couple and their child inside, collided.

All five patients were transported to local hospitals with moderate injuries.
