Man arrested in wife's death in Castaic

CASTAIC, Calif. (KABC) -- A 29-year-old man was arrested Saturday evening in connection with his wife's death in Castaic.

Robert Danielson was questioned by detectives and then arrested on suspicion of murder, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The victim, whose death occurred at a home in the 36000 block of Paradise Ranch Road on Saturday, was identified as 26-year-old Nicole Danielson. An autopsy revealed her cause of death to be blunt force trauma to the head, according to sheriff's officials.

Initially, authorities said the woman's husband found her unresponsive and dialed 911.

Danielson was booked into the Palmdale Station. He was being held on $1 million bail.

The couple's children, ages 3 and 1, were placed in the care of family members.
