SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A multi-vehicle collision blocked all northbound lanes of the 110 Freeway in South Los Angeles Tuesday morning.

The accident was reported near Gage Avenue shortly at about 5:30 a.m.

Heavy delays were reported on the 105 Freeway. The southbound lanes were slow from Vernon to Florence avenues.

Motorists were advised to use the northbound 710 Freeway, Main Street or Avalon Boulevard as alternates.

It was unclear what led to the crash but the cause was under investigation.

Most of the northbound lanes were reopened at about 6:45 a.m., but two lanes remain blocked as traffic inched by the scene.
