16-year-old boy fatally shot in Carson

CARSON, Calif. (KABC) -- A 16-year-old boy was killed in a shooting Friday night in Carson.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department homicide detectives responded to the 23400 block of South Avalon Boulevard on reports of a gunshot victim around 8:30 p.m. When they arrived they found the teen, who had been struck by gunfire several times.

He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities believe the incident is gang related. No suspect information was available.
