Missing elderly man found safe, family says

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The family of an elderly man suffering from Alzheimer's disease who was reported missing said he has been found and is back home.

Apolonio Gomez, 91, was last seen Wednesday around 6 p.m. in the 5500 block of Marmion Way in Los Angeles. He drove his wife's silver 2013 Honda Accord and at some point made contact with two people as he attempted to fill the car with gas.

The Los Angeles Police Department issued a silver alert asking for the public's help to find Gomez.
