Pedestrian struck in Canoga Park; police search for driver

CANOGA PARK, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Los Angeles police are searching for a hit-and-run driver accused of striking a pedestrian in Canoga Park Saturday night.

The incident happened at about 7 p.m. near Saticoy Street and Eton Avenue, according to the LAPD.

Authorities said a person believed to be in their 40s was crossing in the middle of the street when the black 1995-98 Toyota Camry struck. Police said the driver stopped momentarily, got back into the vehicle and drove off.

The victim was in critical condition and police worried he or she would not survive.

The incident was being treated as a homicide investigation, according to police.

Anyone with information on the hit-and-run was urged to contact the LAPD.
