EAST LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A dangerous foot pursuit of shooting suspects resulted in a massive backup on the 60 Freeway in the East Los Angeles area Friday evening.

The incident started around 9:43 p.m., when police received a call about a shooting at Third and Chicago streets.

Officers with the LAPD's Hollenbeck division chased several suspects in a car, ending in a violent crash on the 60. Two suspects were arrested and a gun was recovered at the scene, while at least one suspect got away.

Left lanes were blocked on the freeway as authorities worked to investigate the incident and clear the crash.
