HOLLYWOOD (KABC) -- Eugenio Derbez, who has spent more than three decades as an actor, producer, writer and director in Spanish and English-language productions, was honored Thursday with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

At the ceremony, Derbez thanked his parents for taking him to the movies when he was growing up in Mexico, helping launch his passion for the industry.

"Movies got inside my heart, under my skin. So thanks Mom, thanks Dad for infecting me with the virus of show business."

His latest role is in the upcoming film "Miracles From Heaven," slated for release March 16.
