PACIFIC PALISADES, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Racial messages were spray-painted at Palisades Charter High School over the weekend, triggering outrage when students returned to campus.

Students staged a sit-in protest at the school on Monday after someone scrawled messages with the words Ku Klux Klan, along with derogatory messages about gays, Jews, and blacks all over campus.

The hate messages have since been covered up.

School administrators said there was no credible threat to the high school.
