A man suspected of killing a CarMax salesman during a test drive in Ontario has been declared a fugitive, authorities said.

Alex Demetro, 28, is suspected of crashing a Corvette into a tree during a test drive on Feb. 23. The CarMax employee - Warren Smale, 43, of Montclair - was taken to the hospital where he later died of his injuries.

The following day, Demetro was released from jail after posting $100,000 bail. On March 7, the San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office charged Demetro with one count of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, one count of driving while under the influence of a drug causing injury, and one count of driving when privilege suspended or revoked with priors.

Deputy District Attorney Jack Liu will prosecute the case, which is under investigation by the Ontario Police Department.
