Girl with autism has lost Mickey Mouse pins, lanyard from Disneyland returned

ANAHEIM, Calif. (KABC) -- A young girl with autism who lost her Mickey Mouse pin lanyard at Disneyland had it returned with the help of a Good Samaritan and social media.

Emily Fuller Gibby posted a photo of the lanyard to her Facebook and Instagram pages on March 26.

In her post, Gibby said she worked a pin release at Disneyland when she found the red lanyard with four pins and a note that read, "Hello I am autistic and I don't talk much, but I would like to trade for Mickey pins!"

Gibby helped to fill the lanyard with Mickey Mouse pins and called on social media to spread the word to find the lanyard's owner.

Her Facebook post was shared by more than 12,000 people.

Gibby happily announced that Susie, the lanyard's owner, was located and had her pins and other goodies from Disneyland sent to her home.

"I'm so happy to see so many people care about someone they have never met! The world is still full of great people," Gibby wrote on Facebook.
