Missing boy, 12, found safe near Azusa park

AZUSA, Calif. (KABC) -- Azusa police found a 12-year-old boy safe after he was reported missing when he ran away from his mother during an argument Thursday night.

Esteban Chavez was last seen in the area of Slauson Park, 501 E. Fifth St., around 7:30 p.m. Authorities said he ran away from his mother for a second time.

Esteban was found in the 700 block of E. Haltern, within a mile of Slauson Park, Friday afternoon. Authorities said a citizen called in with a tip after spotting him in the area.
