LAKE VIEW TERRACE, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A brush fire of more than 135 acres was burning uphill near the 210 Freeway near Lake View Terrace Monday afternoon, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The fire was said to have started near Osborne Street around 2:20 p.m., according to initial reports from the California Highway Patrol. The raging blaze quickly burned large portions of vegetation in the 11300 block of Wheatland Avenue, heading into the Angeles National Forest, according to fire officials.

ABC7 viewers shared photos of the fire using #abc7eyewitness.

Approximately 100 firefighters were attempting to douse the blaze from the air and ground as flames appeared to move fast and away from residential homes in the area.

Although structures were not threatened, fire crews said winds could shift the direction of the fire.

Firefighters were also working around nearby powerlines in the area, and said they try to stay at least 35 feet away from them for safety.

At one point, fire officials reported the fire was nearly 200 acres. The most recent report from fire officials said 35 percent of the blaze was contained.

No injuries were reported.
