FULLERTON, Calif. (KABC) -- Fullerton police were thanking tipsters Friday for helping them seize close to 1,000 pounds of illegal fireworks.

Officers pulled over two cars after getting tips from civilians around 8:30 p.m. Thursday night.

The calls led them to a home in the 3500 block of West Avenue, where they found 977 pounds of illegal fireworks.

Three people were taken into custody for attempting to sell the items, Fullerton police said.
