Woman dies after being shot in Hawthorne home

HAWTHORNE, Calif. (KABC) -- A woman died after being shot at a home in Hawthorne early Wednesday morning, and authorities are searching for leads.

A call came in shortly before 3 a.m. in the 11700 block of South Oxford Avenue. When authorities arrived, they found a woman in her 20s suffering from a gunshot wound.

She was taken to a nearby hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Authorities did not release any information on a suspect or suspects. The investigation was ongoing.
