Artesia graduation party shooting leaves 1 dead, 2 injured

ARTESIA, Calif. (KABC) -- Los Angeles County sheriff's detectives are investigating a shooting that killed one and injured two in Artesia on Saturday night.

Lakewood station deputies arrived at the 18000 block of Alburtis Avenue at around 10:20 p.m. and found three men with gunshot wounds.

One man was pronounced dead at the scene, and two others were taken to nearby hospitals and were in fair condition.

After a preliminary investigation, detectives learned that four suspects arrived at a graduation party, and after an altercation, shots were fired.

The investigation is ongoing, and the motive is unknown. A suspect description was not available.
