GLENDALE, Calif. (KABC) -- Six kittens, most of them dehydrated with burned paws and facial injuries, were rescued from the Blue Cut Fire area and are now in need of a new home.

The kittens had been on their own for several days in the fire area and were found suffering from dehydration and malnutrition. They also had burned paws and whiskers, infected wounds and facial injuries.

The kittens' owner was located, but said because of the fire they now have no home to come back to and is hoping someone will find them new loving homes.

For now, they are being cared for at Parkview Pet Clinic in Glendale. They have been treated for their burns and were placed on IV fluids to help bring them back to health.

A Facebook group was started to highlight the kittens' story and help get them adopted.

Donations for their care are also being accepted at Parkview, which can be reached at (818)244-7268.

The Blue Cut Fire in the Cajon Pass burned 36,274 acres and destroyed at least 105 homes before it was fully contained.

Dozens of other animals rescued from the fire are also being cared for at other shelters.

Another Facebook page has also been started to help other animals lost and found in the Blue Cut Fire.
