LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A majority of Californians support a proposition on the November ballot that mandates condom use by adult film actors during sex scenes according to a new poll.

The USC/Los Angeles Times online poll found that 55 percent are in favor of Proposition 60, while 32 percent said they oppose it and 13 percent had no answer.

The online poll involved 1,909 registered California voters. Of them, 64 percent of women polled supported the measure, while only 44 percent of men did.

Prop. 60 also requires porn producers to pay certain medical costs of performers, including vaccinations and testing and medical exams for sexually transmitted disease. It also requires producers to obtain state health licenses.

Los Angeles County passed a similar measure in 2012, which so far has survived court challenges.
