Man accused of killing infant girl, cutting her kidney, liver
A man has been charged in the death of a 10-month-old baby girl in Raleigh. According to warrants, the man allegedly cut the infant's kidney and liver.

RALEIGH, N.C. -- A Raleigh man is facing murder charges after police responded to a code-blue call Sunday evening involving a 10-month-old girl.

It happened around 8:20 p.m. in the 800 block of Suffolk Boulevard. The infant, Laniyh Pierce, was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

Police arrested and charged 20-year-old Marcus Larenzo Alston with felony child abuse and murder in connection with Pierce's death.

According to warrants, Alston "lacerated (the 10-month-old's) kidney and liver" while he was watching the child.

The warrants also revealed Alston was Pierce's mother's boyfriend and the couple lived together.
