Woman shot to death in South Los Angeles; suspect sought

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A suspect is on the loose after a woman was shot to death in South Los Angeles Monday night.

Authorities responded to 41st Street and Avalon Boulevard on reports of a shooting. A woman was found with a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. She was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

The male suspect remains at large. It was unclear what led to the shooting or if the suspect and victim knew each other.

The investigation was ongoing.
