ONTARIO, Calif. (KABC) -- A 16-year-old boy was shot Thursday night on the grounds of an Ontario high school.
Around 9:33 p.m., Ontario police received reports of a shooting that happened at Chaffey High School near 4th Street.
When officers arrived, they found the teen suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition.
Detectives said the boy is not a student at the school. It was unclear what led up to the shooting, but authorities said there were no school functions going on when the incident happened.
There was no suspect information available. The investigation was ongoing.
