Redondo Beach teenager disappears from summer school

REDONDO BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- A 16-year-old girl from Redondo Beach may have been upset about a recent break-up with a boyfriend when she disappeared from her summer school last month.

Mira Costa High School junior Emily Espinosa was last seen leaving campus at about 8 a.m. July 22. Redondo Beach police do not believe that she was kidnapped or forced to leave against her will.

Police originally believed Espinosa possibly left with a boyfriend to Idaho, but that lead turned out to be wrong.

Espinosa was described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 112 pounds and having short brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing denim shorts and a maroon top.
