$1.2 million worth of marijuana found on beached boat in San Clemente

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. (KABC) -- Authorities said more than a ton of marijuana was discovered on a beached boat at Calafia State Park near San Clemente.

U.S. Border Patrol agents said the haul, nearly 2,400 pounds, was found at about 3 p.m. on Monday.

Officials said several large bags were located throughout the abandoned 25-foot Bayliner.

Inside the bags were 82 cellophane-wrapped bundles of marijuana, according to authorities.

Officials stated the marijuana had a street value estimated at about $1.2 million.
