Firefighters fully contained a nearly 200-acre brush fire Saturday that broke out on a Simi Valley hillside and threatened 500 homes.

The fire erupted in the 500 block of Rustic Hills Drive in the Wood Ranch neighborhood around 3:30 p.m. Friday. More than 150 firefighters from Ventura County, Los Angeles and Los Angeles City fire departments worked to contain the blaze.

During the firefight, a Los Angeles County firefighter and a Ventura County firefighter suffered minor injuries.

No structures were damaged or destroyed by the blaze, and firefighters will remain in the area for another day to mop up hot spots.
