LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- See photos of Monday's solar eclipse in Southern California, where 60 percent of the sun was blocked by the moon.

The stellar sighting was the first coast-to-coast total eclipse in nearly a century.

People in what's called the "pathway of totality" -- a narrow corridor stretching from Oregon to South Carolina -- saw the moon completely cover the sun. Southern California and the rest of the nation saw a partial eclipse.

The partial eclipse took place between 9:05 a.m. and 11:44 a.m.
