CASTAIC, Calif. (KABC) -- A preliminary magnitude 3.5 earthquake struck about 2 miles northwest of Castaic on Sunday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The temblor hit at 12:46 p.m. and was 10.7 miles in depth. It was 5.6 miles northwest of Valencia and 9.9 miles northwest of Santa Clarita.

No damage or injuries were immediately reported.

Southern California residents reported feeling a jolt in Canyon Country, Valencia, Newhall and Palmdale.
