1 killed in 2-car crash on southbound 101 Freeway in Thousand Oaks

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (KABC) -- A person was killed in a two-car crash on the 101 Freeway in Thousand Oaks Thursday afternoon.

Ventura County firefighters responded to the scene near the Westlake Boulevard exit. One person was taken to a hospital and another was pronounced dead at the scene.

AIR7 HD captured footage of a black car with a crushed front end facing the wrong side of the road near the center divider. Another car was found by the Westlake Boulevard exit, off the road and down an embankment with a mangled trunk.

It was unclear what caused the crash.
