Man dies after being shot on Skid Row; gunman sought

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A man in his 20s has died after being shot on Skid Row in downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday, police say.

The shooting happened at about 6 a.m. in the 600 block of S. San Pedro Street, near 6th Street, according to the LAPD.

The man was shot and transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died. His identity was not released.

Authorities said a suspect used a handgun in the shooting and then ran from the scene.

Investigators said they did not yet have a good description of the suspect.
