COMPTON, Calif. (KABC) -- The community of Compton came together for grieving and justice at a Wednesday night vigil for a 3-year-old boy who was fatally shot in a gang-related shooting.

The prayer vigil was held at 5 p.m. in the 2800 block of W. Alondra Boulevard to remember Franklin Ponros.

The boy was hit by a stray bullet in a vehicle when, investigators say, two men got in an argument and started shooting.

Dwayne Christopher Ward, 29, turned himself in to authorities Monday.

Ward is facing possible charges that include murder and felon in possession of a firearm.

Activists said the video shows a second shooter, who they are hoping will do the same and turn himself in.

"Whoever was involved in this mess, please turn yourself in. Just do the right thing, you know, my child don't deserve none of this," said the boy's father Richard Ros.

A GoFundMe page
has been created to help pay for Franklin's funeral.
