LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Crews are cleaning up and making repairs Tuesday morning after three water pipes burst in Los Angeles.

An 8-inch water main broke in the 2900 block of E. 11th Street around midnight, affecting 15 to 20 customers, according to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. The water was shut off by 1:28 a.m.

Then another 8-inch water main burst at 1:30 a.m. in the 3300 block of E. 8th Street, leaving 20 customers without service. The water was shut off at 3:40 a.m.

Due to street damage, Concord Street was closed between 8th and Opal streets.

Around 3:30 a.m., an 8-inch water main broke in Hollywood on Wilcox Avenue between Santa Monica Boulevard and Lexington Avenue, affecting 10 to 15 customers. The water was shut off by 5:10 a.m.

LADWP spokesperson John Cox says the rate of water-main breaks has dropped in the last 10 years.

"We used to average between six or seven a day," Cox said. "Now we're down to about three."
