Woman, 31, found dead in Redlands apartment; homicide investigation underway

REDLANDS, Calif. (KABC) -- A homicide investigation is underway in Redlands, where a woman was found killed inside her apartment.

The woman, 31, was found around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday in her apartment located in the 1600 block of Barton Road. Her identity was not immediately released.

Investigators said they have identified a person of interest but have not released the individuals' name.

Police have not confirmed how the woman died, but a witness said he heard what sounded like gunshots.

"It sounded like four to six gunshots in a fairly quick succession and it sounded like five seconds, there's a pause, and a couple seconds later, I heard a couple more," described one witness, adding that he heard sirens a short time later.
