Anaheim security guard for adult bookstore detains robbery suspect with machete

ANAHEIM, Calif. (KABC) -- A security guard for an adult bookstore in Anaheim detained a robbery suspect with a machete before police arrived.

At about 11:15 p.m. Friday, a man entered Couples Mega Outlet in the 900 block of South Euclid and got into a physical altercation with the security guard inside, Anaheim police said. The suspect allegedly grabbed a glass water pipe and struck the security guard, who in turn grabbed a machete and struck the suspect on the head.

The security guard detained the suspect until Anaheim police officers arrived. He was treated for minor injuries.

The suspect was treated for moderate injuries.
