West Covina wrestling coach arrested for inappropriate behavior with student

WEST COVINA, Calif. (KABC) -- A West Covina girl's wrestling coach was arrested on suspicion of a sex-related incident with a 17-year-old student.

Anthony Vidales, 29, of Covina, is a walk-on coach for the South Hills High School varsity girl's wrestling team and was arrested on Jan. 7 by West Covina police.

Vidales was placed on paid leave, according to Michelle Van Der Linden, spokeswoman for Covina Valley Unified School District.

He faces felony charges of inappropriate behavior with a minor. Vidales' bail was set at $20,000.

The details regarding the case are not being released as the matter remains under investigation, West Covina police said.
