HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- A Huntington Beach woman chased out a suspected burglar who crawled in through a first floor window. The male suspect remains at large.

On Dec. 17, the burglar broke into the home in the 600 block of Nashville Drive at about 12:30 p.m. The woman confronted the suspect in her bedroom, then chased the man out of the house and locked the door.

She noticed the suspect had left behind a chisel-type tool and put it on her kitchen counter. When she went upstairs to call 911, the suspect returned for the tool.

The woman then struggled with the suspect over the tool, but the suspect ultimately was able to get away with it.

The suspect was described as in his late-20s to early-30s, 5 feet and 6 inches tall and 130 pounds. He has buzzed brown hair, brown eyes and was wearing an orange crewneck sweatshirt and dirty tan pants.

The victim told police she believes he was a construction worker in the area.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Huntington Beach Police Department at (714) 375-5066.
