Missing 12-year-old Wrightwood boy found safe

WRIGHTWOOD, Calif. (KABC) -- A 12-year-old boy from Wrightwood was found safe hours after he was reported missing, San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies said.

Family members reported Steven Papke missing at about 10:15 a.m. Thursday. He was last seen at about 9 a.m. in the 1200 block of Evergreen Road in Wrightwood. Papke was wearing a red flannel shirt and black pants and should have been carrying an orange and black backpack.

At about 8 p.m., San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies tweeted out that the boy had been found safe.
