Pedestrian struck, killed on 60 Freeway in Moreno Valley

MORENO VALLEY, Calif. (KABC) -- A person was killed while walking on the westbound 60 Freeway in Moreno Valley early Saturday morning.

The California Highway Patrol said the victim was struck shortly after 4 a.m. while walking near the Pigeon Pass Road exit.

The driver stopped and cooperated with authorities.

Investigators are trying to find out why the victim was walking on the freeway.

The identity of the victim was not immediately released.

All lanes of the freeway were blocked at the time of the incident but reopened at around 7 a.m.
