CHINO, Calif. (KABC) -- A 5-year-old boy was struck and killed by a car in Chino on Sunday, according to officials.

Chino police said the child was hit in the 12700 block of Oaks Avenue at about 6:20 p.m.

The boy was rushed to the hospital where he died.

Police said the child lived on the street where the collision happened.

The driver of the vehicle, an 18-year-old man from Chino, remained at the scene and authorities said he was cooperating with their investigation.

Officials said alcohol or drugs were not believed to have played a role in the incident.
